ISCTR-ACC Cardiovascular Translational Research Scholarship Program
We are developing a Cardiovascular Translational Research Scholarship program, to be accredited by both the International Society for Cardiovascular Translational Research and the American College of Cardiology. This novel scientific program will be the first cardiovascular fellowship in the United States of its kind for the purpose of training a new generation in the following necessary components of cardiovascular translational research:
The overall goal of the program is to provide the clinical scientist (a physician) with the necessary scientific background that does not exist in today's curriculum. The program will enable the fellow to expedite scientific discovery to clinical application, ultimately benefitting the patient and society by providing science earlier and decreasing the developmental costs related to new devices and/or novel biologic therapies.
- Basic science
- Preclinical science
- Clinical science and trial design
- Regulatory pathways (FDA) for IND (investigational new drug application)
and IDE (investigational new device exemption)
